im getting a 99 civic hatchback, it already has an engine can anyone tell me what engine is it?

you changed that pretty fast

16y7 and 16y8 are D-series..SOHC, that is definately a b-series

If you look down and left of the the exhaust manifold starts, there's a stamp that will say

b18b1, b18c1, h22a2, etc.

I'm voting for 2nd gen b16.

Deff not. Its a B16A2, which has the silver exhaust manifold heatshield. Its an EM1 engine.

Pending on mileage, how well the motor is retaining its horsepower, how much weight youve got in the car, and how good of a driver you are, Id say mid 15's maybe.

you guys are all wrong this is a B16a. JDM yo check the valve cover and it is most likely a 2gen.

but jdm engine dosent have number after the letter. come on guys
