Default New to Honda.

I am considering selling my Toyota PU daily driver for a more luxurious car like a Honda Accord. I know with my Toyota knowlege that the v6 will not last as long as the 4cyl. They have many more problems and significantly worse gas mileage.

I am looking into the 5th gen Honda Accord with the 2.7L C27 engine. Does this engine vary greatly from the 2.2L 4cyl? What are the details?

ok, I'm going to stop that here before this turns into a Honda vs Toyota argument.

tpot90,
IN the FAQ, stickied at the top of the Accord forum, there is a link in the Specifications section that'll take you to specs on the engine.

I would suggest you take a look at just a really nice 5th gen 4cyl, awesome cars and just fine for a daily driver.

If you're going auto you shouldn't have much trouble finding a fully loaded EX with leather

Yeah, thanks a lot for all the replies. I'm fresh from Yotatech.com. I'm looking for either a 97 or 98 accord auto. I'm over the 5speed & i'm only 17. I heard from my mechanic that all kinds of problems arise with v6's opposed to the straight 4.

well i am not sure what a C27 is but I do know its not a 4th or 5th gen platform so I can't comment on that one. and yes, welcome to honda tech. before you get outta hand on hear and get flammed, the search option in the upper right hand corner. use it to your fullest. it will save you from alot of smart asses on here. search for your question first, re-word it as many times and if you still get no answer, then post a new thread. also once you get pass the 97 accord, you will be in the 6th gen accord. 94-97 are 5th,98-02 are 6th. any honda motor will last if maintenance it keep up. i once heard a joke about honda that they only make cars to put their motors in.

I hate my Accords....listed in my sig. 90-97 have great appearances, but I'm not to happy with some of the systems.

If I ever bought another Accord it'd have to be a 6th Gen EX 4cyl. Maybe a 3rd Gen LXi.

I rock the 6th gen EX myself. Handles pretty good for a sedan, gas mileage is 23-24 in the city, 29+ on the highway. Mine has 109k on it, no signs of me getting rid of it or it quitting anytime soon.

People don't take care of the V6 and get sludge. Maintance it and you'll be fine. I'm still a 4cyl. type though.

no more than L4's. I have seen very few hondas get sludged up unless they NEVER change the oil</TD></TR></TABLE>

This is why Honda Accord V6 and Toyota Camery V6 are poorly engine rated from Comsumer Reports.

I'm trying to sell my toy rig first. I want either a 97 (end of the 5th gen) or a 98 (beginning of the 6th).
I think the 98 looks a lot better, but prices seem to change drastically between the two.

I want all power, auto trans, low miles (90k - 130k). I'm looking to spend around $3,500 to $4,000 depending on how much I make off of my truck.
