Is Power FC overkill for an engine with just an exhaust mod and OEM 4-1 header?

Is neptune and crome easy to program? Is hondata more hype than anything else?

Neptune RTP is equivalent to Hondata S300.

Both are hardware based, real time programmable, and controllable via a USB cable (Neptune RTP even has a Bluetooth add on).

Hondata is not "hype" Hondata was a pioneering force being tunable Honda ECUs. However, now there are better, cheaper, more feature packed alternatives.

You can not compare Crome to Neptune RTP/Hondata S300. Crome is not hardware based, but rather software based. All you need to have is a socketed ODB1 ECU to run Crome, as all the settings are just stored on a EEPROM chip. Hondata/Neptune being hardware based, natively have advantages over Crome and counterparts which can not adhere to. There is no emulating nor chip burning for RTP/S300, so less things that can go wrong, and less stuff to purchase if you are tunning it yourself. Dual map compatibility is present in Neptune/RTP while Crome does not support. Yes, you can buy a 2Timer for Crome and make it work but that just proves the flexibility of RTP/S300. Crome is however free, as all you need is the software. But you will have to buy hardware to tune it. You don't need to buy anything with RTP/S300 to make it work. Comparing S300 vs RTP is prefernce based, but in my opinion RTP wins. RTP just has more features, for example you can manually set the temperate at which your radiator fans turn on so no more need for fan switches, it can be controlled by the ECU. There is no need to jump the service connector plug with RTP, you can just simply hold the gas pedal with the key on at ACC and your CEL will blink the codes. There are tons of these kind of features which RTP has, and S300 lacks. And Neptune just seems to be more solid as a package. Also keep in mind, if you are an end user and do not tune your car yourself then S300/RTP might be overkill for you. Also, you do not need to buy any hardware for Crome as that would be tuner's responsibility when he tunes your car (chip burner, emulator, etc..)
