Auto 5th gens.
So my buddy is looking at an auto 5th gen with a (surprise surprise) blown tranny. Now considering that the 5th gen had that weird manumatic thing, would the transmisson be any different from say an Accord tranny? I tell him that the transmission is controlled by the ECU and solenoids and that the ECU sends current to the solenoids and different combinations of on/off give different gears. Now that said. Will a transmission off a 98+ Accord or ANY other car just drop in cleanly into a 5th gen Prelude? TIA
That's actually an interesting thought. I don't come around the boards too often anymore, and when I have, I've never seen anything about just dropping an Auto tranny from an Accord. I know a manual tranny will work since H and F series trannies work on either motor, but I wonder if it's the same for the auto? Someone enlighten us
