Does anyone have Skunk2 Coilovers?
I am about to lower my car and cant choose between them and ground control. I was gonna get ground control but I have been hearing bad things lately.
I was gonna get ground control originally but I talked to 4 different people that say they had trouble with their groundcontrols
i've had my GC's for a while now and still no problem...the one problem people may speak of is the squeaking of the back two...they have urethane (sp?) bushings in the back, and as we know, if they are not kept properly lubricated they will squeak...but what i've noticed is that they squeak mainly when its cold outside...they are both quality products IMO, but the choice is yours...
Well I have no complaints. I like the ride still and the only problem was some scraping and boinging in my springs when I turned the wheel but I fixed it with some grease and now its perfect.
I've never seen a problem with a set of GC's, I have, however, seen bad installations. IMO I would have gotten the GC's mainly for their strict race bred history, and the fact that they use a cold wound eibach spring. Aside from the spring quality, the Ground Control's let you choose the desired spring rate you want to run, unless you are happy with their setting, which is sturdier than the skunk2 on every application. I know this because I sell both, I've had both. The Skunk2 is still a very good quality product, and uses the same polyeurethan o-rings as groud control, and the ride is very good. But again IMO the more aggressive driver will take the GC's every time.
