Repacking Axle How to and worth it?
Just wondering if its worth repacking an axle? I recently bought a motor and the kid gave me an axle that was good but the bushings inside were sepreated from the way they took it out i guess.... So Ive been told it will pop out if i place it back in and have a shop pack it with grease, and i should just buy a new axle...
Can i get some input on what i should do???
Or the best way to fix the problem???

Nothing wrong with them.... just dont know if taking off the boot seating them (however you do that) PUTTING TH EBOOT BACK ON AND HAVING A SHOP PACK IT WITH GREASE WILL WORK...
Sorry bout caps there...
Nothing wrong with them just just pulled the axle out of place when taking it out... my passanger side one is fine, just they did it to the drivers one

the axle should be fine if you repack it with grease, but if there is nothing wrong with the axle you have one now then don't worry about....
an axle costs like 39 bucks around here......i would replace it.....if the boot was busted for long then the joint is worn now......dont waste your time.....buy a new one....

If the boot popped and it didn't get filled with filth, repacking it and putting a new boot on is fine. If the bearings have problems or it's filled with grime and gunk, you're better off just getting a new one. I've replaced boots and repacked axles before. It's a nasty job, but cheaper than a new axle and works just as well.
