Default d16z6 into vx

Do I need the d16z6 left sidemount? I just tried dropping it in and bolted the tranny mount up, and then found out the left sidemount didnt fit onto the 2 prongs... Please help. I thought I could re use all my mounts... should I go buy the ex/si mount?

all the mounts should be the same.

if your car was an automatic and you are changing to a manual (or vica versa) then they are different

is this the mount on the drivers side or passenger side that you are having trouble with?

My car is a manual, and the motor/tranny i got from the other car is manual so theoretically it should fit?? But the prongs that are on the motor bolted through the timing cover are diffrently spaced. The mount im having trouble with is on the driver's side.

heres some pics...

z1 (vx) prongs

z6 prongs

z1 prongs w/ the mount

z6 prongs w/ the mount

ok, i thought you were talking about the front lower transmission mount (torque mount)

now i see what you are talking about.

i would have to say from those pictures that they are different, and you will need a d15b7 or d16z6 mount.

you can get mounts cheap on ebay. or i might be able to snag one from the shop i work at. we got mounts all over the place

Yeah. I didn't expect my stock mount to not fit it... I thought that all the D series mounts were the same.

If you could find one layin around, how much would you want for it shipped to 98367?

i just did this 2 days ago.. what you need to do to swap them is take ur main pully off and this can be a hard without the right tools and then you need to take the timing cover off and it will clear everything you need to get to the 2 bolts holding that mount on.. and just swap them... also make sure you dont change the timing when you put ur timing belt back on hope this helps
