Default Master Cylinder?

I just got my 95 LX coupe and the brakes are spongy. I bleed them and found that the pass hose had worn almost through and no fluid coming out to the bleeder. I R&R the pass hose and caliper, now I bleed them but after about 2 stops they are spongy again.

The wheel cylinders are dry on inside of the dust boots. The only other thing is maybe the master cylinder. Some one posted they had this problem just wondering if anyone has any other ideas.

I have R&R american v8 type MC and pretty easy how hard are is this. couple of bolts, lines, bench bleed, install bleed the whole system?

Yeah if you're just doing a straight replacement and not a rebuild they're all the same (arguably gravity bleeding the lines first is easiest). Look for "grease stains" running down the firewall. But I agree with you, highly suspicious.

My guess is that in constantly pumping the pedal to the floor some rust tore apart your MC seals...its not unheard of because on good brakes the pedal never gets down that far. In the future pump it only like half way like normal braking just to be on the safe side.

yea, sounds like the MC to me too. R&R like stated above is trsiahgt forward. 2 bolts holding it onto the firewall, and 2 hard lines to remove. remember to bench bleed the new MC before installing.
