Default head torque after rebuild with more than standard compression

hey guys, having trouble asking over here, people are dumb ***** and dont have a clue.... blew a head gasket after 1000 miles running in after new build. it was a honda gasket not a cheap peice of crap.
my question is to you guys with high spec b18's, with my compression higher than standard, after making it 2ltr, head skim and ITB's, does my head torque need to be more? or do I need a bigger gasket? a friend of mine did the same thing with similer spec with raised comp, and we both did standard torque, but he hasnt got round to fixing it yet so have no conclusion from him.
I know someone on here can help, is it just bad luck, more torque needed, or bigger gasket? or maybe something else?

cheers guys & gals

Did you reuse the stock head bolts? If so that may be your problem, suppose to be 1 use only.

Buy some ARP head studs and after the 1st warm up cycle, re-torque them.
