Default i know kpro isnt out for fg's but..

Has anyone tried to take the rsx-s throttle body and changed all the necessary components to make k-pro work for our cars? i remember a while back someone was saying that this is possible.

the reason i am asking this question is because i have a buddy w/ a turbo dc5 w/ k-pro that he will be selling the entire kit for 5k in a few months, which i can most likely get cheaper since hes been my friend for a while.

Is is possible to change all the necessary throttle parts to a cable throttle and ditching the DBW? If so would i need to get a different ECU as well or would that be where K-Pro comes in? If anyone has any knowledge on this, it would be very helpful.

I know that AJP sells kits, but i really dont want a reflash for my tuning. Not ony that but people are spending upwards of 7k for without a new clutch and flywheel. So thats why im asking this question. Thank Guys.

i would try to be patient
it was the same situation for the 05-06 type-s
months later, hondata figured it out
the reflash is still a really good substitute if your just doing bolt-ons
much better than the ones on the dc5s

Didnt the reflash on the DC5's do the same thing the reflash does on the SI as far as VTEC engagement and the redline being increased ?

i believe the flash is better for the si
mainly because i hear your ecu has the ability to slightly adjust the a/f ratio
for instance
an i/rh/e combo for the reflash for the 05-06 type-s would run dangerously lean
however, for the fgs
an i/rh/e combo is ideal for it
the dc5s losing the rh from the flash is a huge downfall

Hmmmm i remember reading about this that race headers would make it run lean etc that really sucks would it do the same thing with k-pro ?

no
k-pro is a tuneable engine management
your able to adjust your a/f ratios to your liking
reflashes are set it and forget type of things so they are unable to adjust
because of this option, this why k-pro is superior

well, it doesn't "suck ***"
the si's is just better
the dc5 had the best reflash in the honda department until the fgs came out with one

yeah, hopefully Hondata is somewhat close by know. I know they were at the 06 SEMA show and said it would be like at least a year until they came out with something like kpro for the z3. But they also said that they were creating more reflash options (i.e. 8-9psi SC, couple of turbo options, etc)

Here's the vid:

http://www.vtec.net/articles/v...31245

But I was also talkin to one of the guys at a local shop (factory5 motoring) and he said that he was at a car show and saw a couple 06 fg2's rockin the throttle cable and kpro...

I was under the impression that Hondata is developing I-pro for the K20z3, which may come out some time later this year. Haven't heard much about it lately though.

Not worth switching the DBW, throttle body and ECU out of the Si just to convert it.

I-pro?
i understand that that 'K' in k-pro means the k-series motor
what would the 'I' be for?

I'm waiting for kpro or if it's called ipro, as well. But I'm in no hurry as I have a long way to go. I want kpro when I get the BC0043 Cams, Toda 12.5:1 Pistons, built bottom end, BC Spring/Ret. Kit, I,H,E, "Haha i know I have a while, lol" cause on BC's site they show a "K20A2, KPro, built bottom end, +.020” bore, 12.5:1 compression, BC0040 spring/retainer kit, Toda header and exhaust, AEM CAI, 91 octane pump gas", making 310HP and 210 ft/lbs. So i figure I could be around the same ball park in time. That's nice seeing how its ALL MOTOR. Can't wait!
