surely it would be easier to buy a jdm spec cat/decat off gay-bay or somewhere??

i've had a spec3 on my DC2 for about a year now & i love it, pretty quite in the daytime with the silencer fitted & bastard loud without it

Yes, your stock cat will work, but the b-pipe will have to be shortened. A "good" muffler shop or machine shop can do this. It is not too hard.

However... I recommend going with the ProSpec as it fits correctly for US vehicles and has flanges. The retaining spring vibrations are annoying after a while. Also, to get mine to fit without looking "grapefruit-launcher lame," I had the machine shop do more work to it. it looks good and sounds great on the track, but i would save myself the money and either by the ProSpec or the Fujitsubo.

Oh, yeah, if you intend to drive around town, don't forget the silencer.

If I remember correctly, the ProSpec comes out straight (and does not stick out a foot past the bumper). Check with Ausmith as I'm pretty sure he has this on his car...
