Anybody run the lower temp thermostats (mugen, spoon) in a daily driven car?

What are its effects in the winter? Any other concerns?

 

I have the Mugen one (which is the same as the all the others).

It's a good mod for track cars - but not necessary for daily drivers.

No noticeable difference in the winter (although it does not get really really cold here).

 

I use the Spoon thermostat combined with a Mugen radiator cap. It does take the car just a few more mins to warm up but on track days i say it helps keep the engine running cooler. Anyone run both the thermostat, rad cap, and the fan switch?

 

Are there any low- budget (read not spoon) thermos and rad caps avail?

 

Mugen! I think it is only about $75 for both the radiator cap and thermostat.

P.S. If you are getting the thermostat you might want a fan switch as well...
