Default Best launch techniques?

Im pretty new to racing at the strip. Iv only done it once and was getting consistant 2.3 60's with 15" rotas and Nitto 555r drag radials. I would hold it at about 4500 to 5000 RPMs then pretty much drop the clutch. Is there a better way, should I "feather the clutch"?

I come off the clutch hard at around 3200.Letting the tires spin controlled to around 3600 so the secondary intake runners are opened.Fllor it then shift at 6200.Oh,you have a Honda of some sort...

What the hell are you driving? That might help us here.

I have a teg with LS/Vtec and a GSR tranny. I was hopping to get to the low 9's but I hit 9.92x every time I ran. I wasn't pushing the car *as hard* as I could have though, I didn't want to hurt my new CM stage 3 clutch cause it wasn't quite broken in all the way yet. I made 4 runs until they told me I could make any more till I fixed my oil leak. I was the fastest honda there though, execpt for this all motor full drag civic that showed up from out of area.

drag racing without breaking in your clutch is definitely not a good launching technique.

Yeah I know, I regret it now. I really hope I didn't hurt it. Im at about 600 miles now, and it still isint quite engaging as hard as I though it would. Iv talked to some people though who said the clutchMaster stage 3 takes alot longer that the 500 miles CM suggest to break in. Today is the first day I really tried to shift hard, it engages pretty hard at lower RPMs (below Vtec), but seems to slip for a second when I shift aftger Vtec crosses over. I was thinking today that it could just be my tires spinning, with my old clutch and a stock b18b it felt way different, kinda like I was getting "wheel hop" when I shfited hard. Now I have energt suspension motor mounts and a whole lot more of power, so I guess the tires spinning is a possibility.... anyways, I just hope I didn't mess my new clutch up

My CM stage 3 felt like that around 600 miles. I just took it easy for another 200, then started to shift a bit harder. Mine in gripping good at 1100 miles, and it seems to feel like its getting better the more miles i get on it.

It feels very good now, you will like it once you get more miles on it.

Hold R's to 4k. Lift the clutch and give gas but dont floor it. 2.0's should come real easy.
Oh yeah, smoke those 555's pretty good.
