Default My Scenario! Which would you choose?

SHE'S KEEPING THE RSX-S!!!

So my girl bought a 2006 MR Acura RSX-s last year in July and got the last of a dieing breed. Now less then a year later she is thinking about selling it and getting a base model Civic to put a couple grand more in the bank. Put yourself in her shoes. Keep the RSX-s K20Z1 beast or go with the base Civic??

money isnt everything, or we'd all be driving Geo's

Giving an exotic sports car some fun competition...

PRICELESS!

Actually we got the VP civic in '05...
Small economical 1.4L -Automatic -no power anything! AC! CD Player!
it looks nice, and fast... but 0-40mph in 10 seconds...???
it's the weakest engine you can get in a honda civic.

after a year of people asking... "Whats that got under the hood?" i picked up an Si

...now they don't ask!

KEEP THE RSX-S!
need money? sell everything else she owns on ebay-

you have to have priorities!

thats honestly a waste of time and money, unless insurance is killer. Keep the S, going from Fast to slow is incredibly tough!!

Oh my lord.. boy is it tough. i went from a boosted GS-R that ran 12's to a typeS.. but in the long run.. my typeS will be faster.

How much is the sales tax on the new car? That gives you an instant 8.25 percent depreciation on any car purchase in my neighborhood. I use the ~$2k sales tax hit I'd take on the car I want to justify tolerating ongoing maintenance on the POS I drive every day.

My cousin went from a '92 GS-R with 200k-ish miles to a newer EK hatch and was still sorry. Better cars are better.

It's her decision. She has to do what's wise for her.

Not sure why you need honda-tech to help her make up her mind.

I know it's her decision but I thought I'd try to get her to keep the RSX and what is wise for her is to keep the safer car. IMO. I'm asking Honda-Tech so that can maybe help her realize she has the better car.

get the civic and save money. That would be the responsible thing to do and would be better in the long run. Maybe save for a down payment on the house. Im sure your girlfriend doesnt give 2 ***** if her car is a "beast" or if the civic will be slower especially if the thought of getting rid of it is crossing her mind. Just thinking logically

Yeh a house down payment is a thought, I would definately choose a house over a car. She is wanting to go test drive the Civic tomorrow. Wish I had the money I'd buy the car from her.
