I have a 94 integra turbo. I am at 10 psi on a t3/t4 at 245 whp. I am wanting a little more power (imagine that!). I was planning on upgrading my DP to a 3 inch to go along with the rest of my 3 inch exhaust, but have since decided to keep my air conditioner. I was gonna do that, and was expecting a 15-20 whp increase, and then bump it up another 2 psi to put me at 12 psi and be around the 285 whp mark. Now, I'm planning on bumping it up to 14 psi to make up for the DP. I always here it's the horsepower not the PSI that ***** motors up, I just want to make sure that this is the truth. I have faith in my tuner since he's done a good job before and seems to be one of the top tuners in Ohio. Like I said, I just want to make sure all I need is a good tune to be able to SAFELY handle 14-15 psi.
its RPM's that expletive motors not hp but to answer your question goto your tuner and get the car tuned untill it stops making power who knows it may take more or less psi depending on the efficency of your turbo.

Yeah you just fucked yourself in saying that
To op: It's actually torque you want to look at. That is the real measure of power. Horsepower is just torque over time (to make it simple). PSI is fairly irrelevant. You are thinking 14psi is going to hurt something when you have a couple thousand PSI of combustion pressure along with that....think about it
PSI doesn't mean **** in terms of engine "wear"
edit: My post was in-comprehensible even to me, so I re-worded it

i think you have a good enough hp considering your set up. you should worry about having usable hp you could have 500 hp and it doesn't mean anything if you can't put it all down. just my opinion!!! R U VTEC???

No, I don't have VTEC yet. I'm in the process of doing LS/VTEC turbo. I've got a b18b shortblock and a b16 head, but I'm far from done. I have to buy the internals for the block, and then get new valves and stuff for the head aswell as take them both to the machine shop. I'm just wanting more power for right now to get me by untill I finish doing my build since it probably won't be done for another six months or so.

I'm on my stock ECU right now. Using Hondata s200b for fuel management. When I get done with the build I'm gonna use a GSR ECU and use the same Hondata. Any more opinons or info?
JUST ONE MORE i think you should go to ur tuner and see what he can do cause the only thing to get more power other than tune is to add bolt-ons that u don't already have. example solidhub clutch & lightened flywheel or fuel delivery, drag radials but stuff you can use when you go ls/vtec so it won't be a waste of money.

Yeah thanks. That's the thing, I don't wanna start buying stuff that I can't use on the new motor. I'll talk to them about upping the boost.

I'm not sure about the tune. I don't know if the tuner went conservitive or not. I know they are somewhat low, but I think that may be due to my 2.25 inch DP. My setup is:
T3/t4 turbo
spearco intercooler
tuner toys 550cc injectors
AEM Fuel rail and adjustable FPR
Walbro 255
Hondata s200b
3 inch Dp back exhaust no cat.
ACT Clutch and streetlight flywheel.
my compression was 180, 175, 180, 175.

Id say no, you need at least forged pistons to safely run 14psi on t3/t4 base turbo.

to answer your question, yes it should be fine considering you have a reputable tuner they will stop where they start to see detonation or other issues such as too much backpressure etc...
tell the tuner what you want and they will make it happen or tell ya what you have to have to make it happen but in general yes you should be fine.
had a buddy with a stock block/internal LS runnin 1 bar makin 275 over 250 on a conservative tune by a extremely reputable tuner. power woulda been higher but the tuner set it up for being able to handle daily hard abuse not high HP #'s

your power was almost exactly the same as mine... 246/221 here. My 2" downpipe is holding me back too.
