07 Si Sedan Vibrating at Idle and Highbeam Indicator on Dim
Hello Honda-Tech!
I recently took delivery of an 07 Si Sedan. Everything was fine until I drove in the rain today. The car has about 500mi on it now. This evening when I started my car up after driving in the rain I noticed that my highbeam indicator light in my gauge cluster was on very dim. I was like WTF? So I turned on my headlights... the dim highbeam indicator goes away. Turn the headlights back off... the dim indicator comes back. If I turn the highbeams on then the indicator functions normally and illuminates... turn them off and it goes back to dim. Also if I start, or just move the ignition key to the ON position while me e-brake is engaged the highbeam indicator light does not turn on dim, but the moment I disengage the e-brake the dim indicator shows up. What gives!? This is a brand new car!!!
I've also noticed that my idle is somewhat rough after this started. The rough idle is very mild, but it vibrates the car noticeably. I'm wondering if some sort of voltage draw that's causing my highbeam to be constantly dim is affecting the idle too. I'm also noticing an engine tick that I hadn't noticed before as well, probably injector tick, but who knows since I'm having such a stupid problem with a brand new car!
Has anyone else experienced this with their car? Know the fix? I'm going to take it back to the dealer to try and get it fixed, but I wanted to see if you all might have some input in this matter. Thanks!

The highbeam light comes on dim when the DRL are on. I'm assuming that, not a gaurantee. My car also does that and the DRLs come on when the ebrake is released.
Dont know about the idle.
The tick is probably just a honda tick. my other car has it and has done it sence before i even had a license. It kinda sounds like sticky lifters, i no its not lifters cuz the over head cam doesnt have lifters.
I would drive the car more and wait and see. its obviously very new to you and your worrying too much. the warrenty lasts longer then 1000 miles so i would wait to see what happens

So it's supposed to have the the indicator on dim? I never noticed it when I first bought the car. So all of your 09-07s do this?
Thanks for the replies.

My highbeam light is on dim when DRl's are on, the DRL's dont come on til you release the ebrake. You are fine, dont worry bout em.
As far as the idle... as Tre said, take it to the dealer if you feel something is wrong.

High Beam Indicator
This indicator comes on with the
high beam headlights....
This indicator also comes on with
reduced brightness when the
daytime running lights (DRL) are on....
</TD></TR></TABLE>
You first noticed the dim high beam indicator when it was raining because the ambient daylight was low.
Then you convinced yourself that you had a rough idle because of the "voltage draw".
Do yourself a favor, read the owner's manual and enjoy your car.

i believe this whole rough idle is being discussed over on 8thcivc w/ no resolution yet...check it out, its a sticky.
tick is the injectors, high beam in dash is due to your DRLs

Yeah I should have RTFM before posting this but thanks for the advice everyone... I just need to get used to the characteristics of the car. It's a lot more refined than my old 02 WRX that's for sure.
