my exhaust does not sound loud from the outside of the car, but inside the cabin, it is really loud, the deep rumbling is really getting to me. If i take out the resonator, will it help?
Put the silencer in (if it has one).
Otherwise get some acoustical foam sheets. Cheapest place to get them is here:

It weighs very little and does light years better than the tar crap they spray all over your trunk.

It'll make it louder, higher-pitched, and (possibly) buzzy. If you want to quiet it down, you could have an additional resonator welded in, or possibly replace the original resonator with a larger (longer) unit. Lastly, of course, you could replace the entire exhaust system.
Good luck.
Good luck.

i don't mind the high pitched sound, what is really bugging me is the deep rumbling from 3000-4000 rpm every time i accelerate. It rumbles so loud that it is pretty deafening. Drowns out the radio and such. It is a custom mandrel bent pipe with a magnaflow resonator. The mechanic from the shop i got it from said if i want my car to sound deep and not raspy, i should get the resonator. I don't know ive been unhappy with my exhaust cuz there is some kind of rattling going on under my car, which I have yet to find the cause.
