Default Traded?

Has anybody traded in their FIT for a different model? Just wondering. Since I drive a lot of steep hills, the FIT power is alittle weak so I was gonna move up to a Civic. Still small but a bit stronger. Anyone trade in their 2007?

I wanted to trade in my Fit, but I would be too upside down on it. So I decided to upgrade the things I didn't like. Lack of power: I did an intake and exhaust and I noticed a difference when climbing those steep hills. Eventually I want to upgrade the brakes as well because I felt that the brakes were a little to soft for me. If you don't mind losing money on your Fit then go for it

Can't be too bad of a loss. ValleyHonda has a CPO Fit with 13k miles for nearly 2 grand over msrp.

$18k they're asking seems a little steep. lol. They also had another used 1 listed for $17k on the website but it's gone now.

Yeah, man, the Civic is close to 3000lbs and barely has much more power, as opposed to the Fit 2400+. I'd opt for some power upgrades and keep the Fit, otherwise your bound to loose thousands of dollars on that transaction.

If you do decide to part with it, I would try to sell it out right. Given the high demand and low supply, you could at least break even and probably sell it fairly quickly.

I've considered trading me Fit lately, but I doubt I'll do it. I miss my STi. I might be in the market for a change next year, but I doubt I'll trade my Fit at this point. In a perfect world I'd keep my Fit as a daily driver and buy another, new or newer second car as my fun car.

I have a friend that works at a local VW dealer. They have a leftover '06 GTI that's loaded and they're willing to deal. They called me and tried to work a deal. I might test drive it for the hell of it. I have a friend that just traded his 07 Si 4 dr for an 07 GTI 4 dr. Honestly I think I'm going to wait until the EVO X, new STi and BMW 135i come out and then possibly buy one of those.

Yeah...about $2400. But it's okay with me because I wanted the sport.

The results are in. Total loss trading in the FIT was $2000. The sad thing is the dealer will just detail the car and put it back on the lot as certified used and sell it for almost as much as I originally paid. That's the part of the car biz I hate! I wish the dealer would be more fair to the buyer but i guess they need to get as much out of us as they can :-(

Yeah, I got just under 15 for mine. It had a lot of chips on the front bumper and it probably needed a new carpet because of a spill on the rear floor.

On a side note, it seems like people are selling them for more than their worth in private party sales. I found one local with 32k on it for 18 thousand dollars. lol

Before I bought my Fit, I saw one with 5k for $22k
