caring for carbon fiber
for a while ive really been wanting a carbon fiber hood.
but the thing thats been stopping me is that ever car i walk by with one always has a little or a lot of the clearcoat rubbing off and it makes it completely ugly
my car would be parked outside all the time because its too low to get up the driveway..
if i got a carbon fiber hood
is there any way i could keep it looking new for a long time?
could i just get an extra clear coat sprayed on when i buy it before i put it on???
or what could i do to care for it and keep it looken good?
thanks.

i kinda have the same question BUT
i just had my hood scuffed down and recleared which makes it look like brand new... not that expensive and worth it imho. peanut butter etc are just temp solutions to make it shine, but once ur clear coat is fading and getting gross...just take it to any reputable shop to have them reclear your hood.

what i do is i get a shammy and just drag it from the top of the hood to the bottom i dont rubb and i go with the weav of the carbon fiber thats why i go from top to bottom........
Wax will not help that much. I had my hood for 2 months and it started fading and I waxed it a few times in that timeframe. I had mine scuffed down and cleared when I got my car painted and it's been that way for almost 2 years and hasn't faded at all.
