Will these 16" Borbet rims with 225x40x16 tires fit '95 accord LX?
Manufacturer recommended tire size for 16" wheels for my accord is 205/50-16.
These Borbet rims are 7.5x16 4x114.3 offset 35, tire size 225/40-16, will they fit my accord? These tires are 28.2mm (or 1.1inch) smaller in diameter compared to my stock tires (car is not lowered). What difference will it make?
EDIT: seller confirmed that they are 4x114.3 and were on 1988 mazda gtx
EDIT:
So i calculated: the distance from wheels hub mounting surface to the inner edge of the tire will be 147.5mm versus 130.5mm in stock wheels. So the tire technically will be only 17.5mm (0.67inch) deeper. Will my front tires rub when i turn?

i have 225/40/18, lowered 2 1/3 inches, and i'm not rubbing..but that's in the rear for me, you should be okay.
I wouldn't. A 225/40/16 is 1.13" smaller in overall diameter when compared to the stock tire that comes on that year Accord.
Are you sure those have a 4x114.3 lug pattern? Whats the offset?

stock for my year are 14" 185/70-14... are you sure these are smaller than stock wheels? Is it going to cause any problems down the road?
not sure about the offset, the rims were supposed to go on mazda 323 gtx awd..

thats what I was kinda wondering since the tires overall diameter would be better matched for that of a 90's Civic or Integra.

Unless the wheels are offset to the outside of the car a good bit, those tires are too wide. 225 is overkill for a street driven car. 205 is the best for a street driven car because its less likely to rub the inner fender wells when turning and going through dips.

the offset is 35. Is this a close call?

your probably ok to run that offset on a 7.5 inch wide rim. I put some SSR shumachers that were 16x8 with a +36mm offset that had a 225/50r16 tire on my ride and boy were they close. Close to the outside of the bend in the knuckle and damn near close enough to my fender to grit my teeth going over bumps and making hard corners. In fact thats about as far in and out that an 8 inch wide rim could go on the 5th gen accords. Any smaller of an offset or bigger of a tire i would have had issues. Is your car dropped? If it is i would say you might need to run a stiffer spring rate.......but otherwise i would think your good to go!
