Default good ol honda fender/rear quarter lining rust.

FTLLLL

but anyways i clicked one of those ad things on the top of the page. and i came upon http://www.rustbullet.com/Prod...e.htm has anyone used this before? my plans are to weld a new piece onto the rear quarter in my case. and i have some holes i gota fill where the spoiler was alota rust there. would this be neccasary? or i should be fine with a body filler.? my plans are to put filler over the new piece of metal which was welded in and to sand it down to where its suppose to be.

any tips?

thanks for all input.

Cut out the rust. Its the only proper way. Weld in the new metal, grind the weld, apply filler. Apply epoxy primer and be done. If you want a real bullet proof paint, you can shoot some self etch primer followed by epoxy.

thats what i mean if it need to be cut out cut it out ,there is no need to cut it out if its just s bit of surface ,rust ,alittle sandblasting id fine

with the por15 it says on the can that you just ,use a wire brush and then apply it afterwards, but it allso says to aply right after you weld in new steel ,it seald the steel from rust or if there is rust converts it to primer and seals it in there for good then you do whatever bodywork to it just like if you didnt use it

it drys really hard and thick ,so i wouldent paint right over it lol

id go with that but ,if you want to use rust bullet giver snot ,im sure its the same thing ,but just remember you get what you pay for

yes you can sand over the por15 ,but there shouldent be any need too ,

cut out the bad steel ,make your patch ,por15 the backside ,place it and tack in place ,then weldit up ,grind the welds down ,the por15 the patch ,let it dry and then bodyfiller ,sealer primer paint

when i sandblasted the underside of my car then rustolem primer and paint ,the rust came back ,which is bull **** since they say in penitrates the rust and steel

all lies lol it came back in know time ,you can use it ,but there will be a chance the rust will come back

good luck ,i hope it turns out great and i want to see pics when your done

thanks for the info mitch, im assuming you did the rustolem paint job. after your final coat / clear did u just use a rubbing compound and a polish? cuz i kno that u arent suppose to use wax on fresh paint but i dont know how different this paint is.

and btw was it the por patch u useD?

well i never did the body of the crx, just the underside ,so i never polished or anything like that... I wouldent paint your car with that stuff unless you want to have to do it again in a few months lol

sure all these guys do it and it looks great ,but after a few months it fades and looks like **** lol and that stuff is a pain to sand ,but for some reason everyone keeps doing it ,I'm sure it would last if they cleared it ,but i guess it wouldnt be a 50 paintjob anymore lol

just remember to only use this stuff on the patch it self and alittle bit around the patch and under the car , (dont cover your hole car with this stuff)

as for the patch i went to a metal supply place and bought a sheet of 22 and 20 guage steel ,each sheet cost about 70 canadian ,but im getin rid of all the plastic panels on my crx qand makeing them out of steel ,so you most likely wont need that much lol Just cut out the bad steel ,then take some cardboard and make a template ,then transfer it to the steel and ,there ya go you got a patch

if you have anymore questions just ask
