CR-X front seat HELP!!!
I just recently purchased a nice set of CR-X front seats for my 91 CRX restoration. Only problem is the rail doesn't line up. I tried swapping the seat pans out, and found out they doesn't fit correctly. The CR-X pan is "square shaped" in comparison to the 89 Civic Si pan that came with my CRX when I got it years ago. The Civic Si pan won't fit on there unless the foam is trim down, and modifications are made. However, I don't want to trim my foam nor make a lot of modifications. Is there a right seat pan for this or a universal seat bracket you use? If anyone done this swap to their CRXs, any help would be greatly appreciated..

those are EF6/7 seats from one of the interior packages they had over there.
basically its a bolt in for 88-89 cr-x's usdm.
the difference in the seat mounting holes from 88-89 TO 90-91 is the same in japan as it was here.
otherwise since they are CR-X seats, they will bolt into the car from their correct corresponding split gen.
why does you existing seats have civic si pans?
another suggestion is find an OEM 90-91 usdm crx si seat to strip and compare those pans......
it could be ripped to all hell even a junkyard special, wouldnt really matter, you know?

I don't want to modify when it comes to seat. I want it to be the way it is for comfort and stock look. I thought about washers too.
I know someone has done this the correct way and have a precise answer.

swapping pans is the best solution for you, no other way around it...self tapping screws and washers work, but teh metal where you would screw into is not as strong/thick as the original mounting placement. those look like a set of seats i sold last year sometime. i had a bunch of different sets like that, Doubblethink bought a similar set but Style-II
just swap the pans... the foam didnt match up on my 88 to 89 swap... but i installed it anyways... only prob is that i sit a little higher now, (very little) or for you vice versa... buddy on his 91 to 88 also similar prob.. never trimmed anything, and turned out great... good luck!
