umm... why did you black out what head you're using?

spring pressure will also depend on your camshaft, not just boost pressure.

is this because too high of a spring pressure will cause premature wear on the cam? or is it something else?

because more lift and duration of the cam shaft requires more spring pressure to put the valve back on the seat to avoid float.
