I made a mistake (Titanium retainers)
Hi all,
I need to clear something up. My retainers which are pictured in this thread
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=197151 are NOT Portflow retainers. I bought them from Godspeed quite a while ago, I think before Portflow's retainers were even out on the market, and assumed they were Portflow's as that is what Godspeed sells now. I didn't realize/remember the switch in products, and no I'm not sure what brand they are.
I spoke with Tom @ Portflow and he looked at the pictures and sent the pictures to his manufacturer and verified they are not his. In fact, Tom went over the manufacturing process of his retainers, and the grade (Aerospace grade titanium).
I feel bad about this mix-up and hope I haven't caused any problems by it.
Sorry, and glad I could set the record straight.

I just got my new Portflow retainers (Fed Ex man rules) anyway, here is a pic comparing what brand I have (?) to stock, to Portflow's. There is definately a difference as you can see.
In this picture you can see the Portflow is designed for higher lift cams, that is why it's not as tall as the other two. With the high lift, Tom said the stock retainers smack the valve seals....which isn't good. BTW, the height doesn't effect valvespring seat height

Yes, too long ago, doesn't remember my particular set he's getting old you know. I've suggested Ginko Biloba for his memory lost, and buffered asprin for his arthritis pain.
