Re: SR20Det in Civic????
IMO the sr20 is far beyond the b-series engine. Just take a look for a Nissan Silvia built by Top Secret of Japan. The CEO of the company owns a daily driver 800hp sr20det boosted by a t51r. The guy has full roll cage, and race seats, and uses the car to drop his kids off at school. How many streetable 800+hp b-series engines can you find?

So that I can correct the minds of some individuals I guess

"its so much more superior than the silvia motor"

Ok If any of you took the time to read the previous thread regarding this, you would understand why I am backing up the SR. Many of you criticized the thought and even deemed it impossible to throw an sr20 into a civic. I an not anti-honda. I like the chassis
I am just stating my opinion as to how the sr is better than the b-series, just like previous were trying to say that the b-series is superior to the SR.
Also, don't criticize an engine that may be on the lower level of Nissan quality, but still has much potential, KA24DE. That engine has the potential for 500+hp easily.

we said its practically impossible to put it in a civic
the average person will not be able to do this.
b series motors are capable of 600hp so i dont want to hear it eithre.
"no it will not work" I do believe that this is saying that it is impossible. Now maybe if it were worded "no, it will not work without major modification," then I would have to say that the definition of major modification is different depending on the individual.
look dude
if you have been around this board long enough you see a bunch of stupid *** questions like "can i fit ths supra engine in my civic" or "i got a good deal on an s2000 engine, will it work in my 1988 accord fastback"
99% of these questions are asked by people who have no idea what the hell there doing.
thats why "no it will not work" was said.
with money anything is possible
and another thing. dont come into this board acting like the sr20 is gods motor and the b series engine is a peice of ****.

there is entirely too much assuming going on on this post. No one is acting like sr20 is the greatest engine around, I am just trying to prove a point to those who say "might as well build a b series and drop it in". I am actually a firm believer that a CA series is far superior than the SR. (thats a never-ending debate in itself).

. An sr20 motor in a civic is just retarded IMO. I just ask the question why, why do people do things the hard(beyond resonable)way.

Ok the KA24 may not be that bad, but c'mon- 500+hp easily? if thats the case then why bother with an SR20. And as far as using the Top Secret's Silvia as an example- you can make anything possible with enough money.

Impossible huh? well judging by the replies and the pix it just showed it isn't impossible.....B series are capable of 600 hp's but how many B series do u see rolling around with 500 + hp's out there, where i'm from i haven't even see one surpass 400...... SR20's can hit 400 with not a lot of shiet put into it, as the B series a lot of work would go into it just to surpass 400 hp's, and the Torque factor would still be low..Look at the engines nissan has examples, the Sr20DET's, and the RB26's....I don't see that much Honda engines have more potential than these, even one of honda's top Engines the F20 S2000 motor, cannot even come close to the power potential to a sr20 or an RB26..and the torque still low.... so i do agree with him how Nissan motors outdo the honda motors, simply put nissan makes a better street racing motor, with more potential....

just because it was put in 1 civic dosent mean everyone can now do it!
nobody cares if its a better motor
if you like it so much go to a nissan board!

I happen to love Nissans, but you my friend , came in here acting like a complete ***.....
Stock turbo blocks hold boost better than blocks that were never built for turbo. You can change anything out of anything, but what the block is built out of is up to the actual engine manufacturer.
