I'm currently trying to install an ASR subframe, sway bar, and LCAs. However, the 45mm bolts that come with the subframe are not threading into the chassis of the car itself. They seem slightly too large. I'm going to try some PB Blaster to help it, but I want to know if you need to drill these holes out wider. The bottom hole is especially small and I know for a fact that I will not be able to fit the 25mm bolt in that one.

 

do you have the kit for the right gen. of civic?

 

Yes, it is for the 5th gen.

 

the hole might not be lined up. i put mine in last night and had this problem. try twisting the control arm one way or the other.
to twist mine, I used a big as flat head screwdriver and pryed it in the direction it needed to go.

 

They will go in with a bit of effort. When I put mine on I had one hell of a time with it. I tapped it in with a hammer to help try and line it up. Good Luck with it.

 

Are you talking about the two smaller bolts and not the main LCA bolt (its about 80mm long)?

I know on my 94 civic, the two smaller bolts, since my car came with the tack nuts, i had to drill out those threads to be able to use the nuts that came with; do not try and thread the bolts throught the tack nuts and then onto the nuts supplied or the bracket. http://www.asrparts.com/ click on 'FAQ' look at that picture and let us know which ones you are specifically talking about. I know that one of those smaller bolts go into that threaded bracket that goes on the inside of the subframe, and the other bolt uses the locknut.

 

Okay, if you're looking at ASRs FAQ page, I'm talking about the four bolts that are the same (two on each side). From what I understand, they go through the two uppermost holes on the subframe brace itself. There is a little bit of rust/corrosion in the threads, so maybe some PB Blaster and a wire brush that is long and narrow will solve the problem.

 

There aren't any threads on the bar itself i thought...are you talking about the threads on the tack welded nuts behind the front of the sub frame? Youre supposed to drill the threads out and use that bracket which has threads in it and then that one nut provided if this is for EG/DC2.
