Default Widest Tires on 06 Si

What is the widest rim/tire combo possible without rubbing or modifications. I'm looking at 17x8 with a 45 offset and a 235/40/17 combo. Will this fit?

Depends on how low you go.

I had 235's on my car and on VERY hard bumps w/ 2 people in car in a turn, they would rub. I switched to 225's, no rubbing an no noticeable loss of traction due to smaller tire.

It has the HFP suspension, so it's lowered about an inch. I'm just looking for the widest tire I can fit for STX class, so it's either 235/40/17 rt 615's, which is what I wanted since it will lower the gear ratio a bit due to the smaller diameter, or I'll go with the 225's if there are rubbing issues.

I ran 245/45/17 on stock sized rims for autocross with minimal to no rub on stock suspension.

I have 225/40zr18's on enkie zr1 wheels at stock hight and I rub when pushing it. I have rubed the push pins out that hold the inner fender lining. I got my set from http://www.TREADEPOT.com and thay would not help me at all with this problem even when thay said it would fit just fine. I wont deal with them again and hope that others will do the same.

Hey guys. I'm new to all of this, but i'm about to cop an 08 NPB Si Coupe in a couple weeks and I'm thinking about upgrading to the 18 inch alloys. I want to know if it would better suite me to shop around for better bargins. My dealer, a trusted friend of the family, said that it will be $2153 for the upgrade (after installation) and $500 "after the credit for the stock" more for the bigger (all-season) tires that they require. He told me that it new tires would be Dunlop 215/ 40 18s. I've done SOME research but have been unable to get enough information to compare tires online, since the dealer is on vacation.

Is that that a good fit and brand?
Are there better deals, quality and price-wise, out there?
Is this "friend" big leaguin' me?
Should i be allowed to keep the rims and tires and sell them somewhere else?

Thanks alot!!!
New guy
