help with headlights!!!!!!??????
hey there fello hondacans, anyone knows how to clean headlights..... like to the smeared on the glass......... a buddy told me use sand papper and some type of liquid..i just wanna know if theres a procedure that works o.O O.o
I used toothpaste and rubbed it on the headlights came out pretty clear actually. if youre referring to the condensation and junk inside of the headlights you have to bake the lens out and clean them. Try toothpaste first due to the fact every household SHOULD!!! have them
Wet sand with 2000 grit sand paper, dry, and then buff with plastic buffing comp. or you can go to any advance auto parts in the headlight sec. of the store thay have a headlight
restorer kit(big silver bag)its about $20 but it works great,as long as you still wet sand with 2000 grit first. it dont say anything about sanding but do it.

Steps to Remove Headlights:
1) remove turn signals (one screw behind it - access through a small hole in the lower grill)
2) remove screw at the top of the bumper/fender meeting (behind the corner lights)
3) remove the 10mm bolt at the bottom (holds on the fender lining and lip)
4) remove grill (5 screws + two clips)
5) remove the two (i think 12 or 14mm) bolts behind each turn signal (so 4 total)
the bumper (cover and metal) should be free and you can pull it away
how to remove your lights:
1) remove corner lights (1 screw)
2) remove the 5 10mm bolts holding the headlight on (two on top, one below, one right, one left)
3) headlight = free, pull it off, do the same for the other
to remove the headlight from the actual black harness:
1) two screws up top (in the white plastic)
2) two screws below (weird swively thing)
3) 2 more screws?
headlight should be free from the harness
to open it:
pop it in the oven at like 250-300 degrees for about 5 minutes (take out the bulbs obviously)
take it out, you'll probably want a hair dryer or a heat gun , slowly pry away the lense from the silver/backing (i used a small fatty screwdriver)
etc i think there's some DIY's around

you're trying to clean the outside or inside of the lense?.. i used wax and buffed the outter portion of the lense and baked it to take the headlamp apart and did the same on the inside.. looks new.
