Have one ordered or get one with 10 miles on it or so... Try to get lower then sticker price (MSRP)... Look over it for scratches, test drive it, make sure the suspension doesnt creak or pop and that the windows dont rattle when half down...
I would reccomend blue (wish I would have gotten' it, I got black)...

Just bought NHBP Si Sedan and I love it, watch it for some dealers though, mine was trying everything possible for me to go with an EX instead. The guy even went as far as telling me my credit didn't qualify for the payments I wanted on an Si.
I declined and left upset, two days later received a call from him offering me lower payments than I was quoted for the EX on the Si, turns out my credit wasn't that bad!

X 1 million.
I got my SI sedan a lil over a month ago and I wish I had though to do this. On my rear bumper it looks like a bag-*** scratch (maybe a 1/4 inch think and 4 inches wide? it's big) was gouged into it on the delivery to the dealer. Then it looks like they put a thin-*** coat of paint over it (since the black scratch looks like it's showing through the paint i.e darker in some spots of the scratch than others), and then clear-coated over it.
I noticed it about a week after owning it and brought it in immediately to be fixed. The car is taffy white and it drives me INSANE, but they refused to do it since they said I could've done it in my week ownership.. but why would I go through the trouble of paying a body-shop to fix it and then bring it to them? There's no way an average joe like me could apply clear-coat that evenly and smoothly.
Don't let this happen to you! It's the first thing I see whenever I look at my civic.

This might sound stupid, but seriously flip every single switch, push every button, pull every latch, adjust everything adjustable that car has before you sign off on it.
There's nothing more annoying than driving off the lot with a huge smile and brand new car to find out one little thing doesn't work when you want it to.
Also since it's your first manual transmission, just stall the damn thing in the parking lot and get it out of your system. It'll save you some paranoia on the road and will give you a good idea of where you're clutch grabs.
