Default Federal Question...

Hey quick question...shanto i believed was the one taht recommended these so if he can chime in that would be awesome...

...I had bought the Federal tires and they are pretty good tires for the price but after about 95mph it seems a bit unsteady. not that i drive that fast but when i have a few times the car seems to be floating....is it the Z/R/etc rating or b/c it is a drift tire or what? just a bit scary at times especially if i hit about 110 it seems TOO floaty unlike the RE750's, s02s, or re050's. I dont drive this fast but a few times tahts how the car feels.

BTW. while I am at it...i got my 70 Sparrow and that thing is loud when i heard it in person a few weeks ago (mine isn't in yet) and we jsut installed my buddies invidia and that is loud inside the car like the sparrow but from outside it is a lot louder....the sparrow seems a bit quieter from outside. will the Sparrow sound a bit louder from outside wtih the test pipe on? cuz they say the TP on the sparrow makes the drone go away just a bit instead of louder.

because of the weak sidewalls... the tire expands and it somewhat bring the vehicle up (ex. drag cars burn-outs)... plus the suspension bouncing with the road condition.. thats why you think you are floating...

tire pressure as well play a role... and yes the sidewalls on these are softer then those you listed....
i never felt the "float" you discribed on my previous set ups or my current federals on my EVO.....

do you think theres a reason for that floating feeling? anything u recommend? maybe lug nuts might be loose? or anything...reason i state the lug nuts is b/c he told me to go back in 3 weeks to tighten the lugs b/c the Volk ones (that i have on) he said might get loose and to come tighten them he iddnt wna make it 100% tight or some BS like that i dono to be honest i was floating wtih ? marks above my head wondering wtf he meant while he was talking.

ALSO, I'm thinking THIS might be hte problem...when i turn LEFT or RIGHT there is a rapid clicking noise coming from the front tires...my dad said it can't be the axle boot or something (dont quote me on the part cuz i can't recall) b/c he said the car is RWD and its in the back so the noise would ocme from teh back not front....what can this noise be? i gotta take it to the shop either way but a heads up maybe from someone here woul dbe cool

That explains it. Check your damper settings, and tire pressure.
