Default paint job??..

This is in regards to the paint job done at Earl Scheib and to the ones who had their paint job done there. I specifically requested that they mask off all the moldings on my 91 DA. So that I can paint them myself (flat black). Now if I tape around the moldings to paint, will the adhesive from the tape do any damage to the clear coat and paint when I remove the masking tape when I'm done?

I would suggest taking the moldings off before painting but that's up to you. I'm **** and everything has to be off the panel I'm painting (antenna's, handles, moldings, etc...) If you decide to tape them off, you'll be fine, just be careful during removal. I pull the tape off at a 90 degree angle, some pull the tape off straight back. Just watch as you pull and make sure the clear isn't peeling off with the tape.

I would definitely take the moldings off to paint the car or to repaint the moldings. It's just a few clips, albeit some of the aren't that easy to get to. In the end, you will get a much more thorough paint job.

I presume you have to remove them by taking off the door panels correct?

You can pop the moldings off, but to assure you don't break any clips or possibly even the molding, you can take the interior trim off and go that route.
