Want to slam my car on SPRINGS
Does anyone know of a brand of lowering springs that drop your car more than 2.25"? I'm wanting to slam my DC2 on springs, not coilovers. But I'm beginning to think the coilovers are my only option
slamming the car is never a good idea, safety wise, ride quality wise, and reliability wise. In which case, you'd be just fine cutting your stock springs. You sure you want to slam your car?
Here's my friends car. He said the springs weren't cut. And it's way bigger than a 2/2.25" drop. Okay okay, if cutting the springs is the only option then I DON'T want to slam it.

Again, his springs weren't cut.

well it's not your only option. What I'm saying is, no matter which route you go, nothing good will come of slamming your car other than the look of being slammed. So why spend $700+ on coilovers when you can achieve the same result with a (mostly) free mod like cut springs?

Why not coilovers? What are you going to do if you slam it and then realize that it's to low? Besides regular springs are usually progressive, and softer then coilovers and being that low you risk bottoming out and doing some damage. I don't recommend coilover sleeves, but it's a much better option then cutting stock coils.
If you go that low... buy GOOD shocks!

be aware that its HIGHLY recommended that if you drop the car any more than 1.5" you need to get the car recalibrated via camber and alignment.. or you can kiss your tires goodbye in a few months....
Cutting springs is just plain dumb.. your going to lower the car way to much and not only is it to low.. but your spring rate will be exacly the same as stock, if not even softer b.c its less metal... w/e you dont dont cut lol

Cutting a spring will actually increase the spring rate. This is why you always hear of people saying cut springs will be bouncy. The shocks aren't damping the higher spring rates.

and it won't be the camber that wears out the tires, it will be the toe, although an alignment will fix that too.
Slamming these cars is not a smart move to begin with, unless you're doing it for shows and things like that.
