Does anyone know what NY requires (in terms of paperwork) to title a used car? The buyer I have lined up for 009 is from New York, and will be flying down and driving it back. In NC, you have to provide a signed title, and I think that's all for a car bought outright (no lien).

For NY, I *think* he'll need the transferred title and a bill of sale. Anything else?

you might want a signed receipt of purchase price as well to protect you both plus the NY buyer will have to pay taxes.. OUCH

 

he MUST HAVE a temporary insurance card showing there is insurance on the vehicle to register it in NY. Otherwise they will tell you to **** off, ;[ i had to wait a weekend to drive my car cause of it NY
