suggested paint to use on s2k wheels
Well seeing that the picture is of my car, I guess I could help you out lol...
-- Scuff wheels
-- Clean really well. (I used acetone)
-- Spray on Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter
-- Spray on Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating

Do not use the clearcoat. Don't spray in light coats from far away or the paint will be rough and sand-like, and also more flat. Spray in a thick coat close up but without runs. It's a little more tricky but will produce a better result. I have people all the time ask if they're powdercoated.

I painted my track wheels suzuka blue to match my car. It came out pretty nice.
Clean Wheels
Light Sanding
Primer
Paint color of your choice (2 coats was enough for me)
High Temp Clear Coat (1-2 coats depending on the finish you want)
If you are really **** and want a stock like finish, then wet sand between painting and clear coat. You will get a very smooth finish that way.
The wheels stood up to track temps and abuse. I had no issues of paint flaking or anything, always looked like new after a wash/scrub

No more pictures right now, but I'll take some for you tomorrow. They hold up very well. They're not even chipping after 4 months of daily driving.

how many coats did you apply? did you have the tires removed when you sprayed them? why not use clear coat? just to keep them that flat black look instead of glossy?

I taped off the tires. I did one thick coat. The clear coat they have sucks and makes it look foggy. It's a waste of money, and it's not needed because it holds up well without it. It won't really change the finish that much either.
only bad thing about painting rims is if the company changing out your next set of tires doesn't have the best tire mounting machine they will get scratched.
keep extra paint on hand for touch ups.
Powder coat is about $60 a rim. So much Cleaner of a finish...

this is true, but when you multiply that by 4, compared to a few rattle cans and what not its a lot cheaper... plus if you dont like the color, you can just spray a new one on...
