wtf does this thing do?
I pulled the dash from my 91 std to repair/replace the dash wiring harness and found this goodie just chilling there wtf is it for? (sorry bad camar phone pic my good digi is lost)
I believe it is a resistor box for your dash lights. I removed it one time and had no lights on my dash. I'm not sure though.
I couldn't get my seatbelt warning light to stop blinking (the big red one in the middle of the dash (STD hb)), so I starting depinning each pin from that connector. The second one I depinned turned off that light.
The other lights seem to work after hooking up a battery, so I dunno.

It is described as control for the automatic seatbelts for US models and daytime running lights for Canada models.
Your seatbelts might not lock correctly without it. Alerts like hatch open, door open, etc. including the lights on the instrument cluster might not work without it either.
If the seatbelt chime bothers you, you can put a piece of electrical tape over the small hole in the piezo buzzer, and it will be silent.
