Don't get a Megan header. I thought they were a good bang for the buck until mine went bang.

Yeah, I loved mine until the colector fell off. The welds on this thing looked nice from the outside, but it's no better than the **** you get on ebay. really thin metal coupled with even thinner welds isn't a good thing. When the colector cracked off I got to see the welds and there was no penetration whatsoever.

The welds and piping looked "bling" and that was all they were concerned about. Basically you are paying for an eBay header with a Megan logo tacked onto the runner. Literally. Show me a picture of a megan header with better welds than an ebay header and I'll shut up.

You see, I heard lots of stories like that so I bought one. I was completely dissatisfied with the quality of it.

I have a secondhand ebay header that a buddy of mine just GAVE me for free because it is a total peice of ****. I compared the two and it has better quality assembly and welding than my megan POS sitting in the woods beside my garage.

Think of it like this:

Ebay header: $60
Megan header: $150

Ebay header: shitty
Megan header: equally shitty

What would you rather spend your money on? They both use the same shitty thin gauge metal, same shitty bling bling zero penetration welds, and same shitty gasket sets.

Tell me one reason why I should buy the megan again over an ebay header.

A Megan header is an ebay header. They used to be similarly priced but now that they got a semi-decent rep they've gotten expensive. I think the only 2 options are ebay or bisimoto/smsp/something high end. DC and other brands like that just aren't worth the money.

BTW: If you try to tell me that megan is better due to their warranty, I'll ship you some **** lube so that their rapage won't hurt as much as mine did. basically, you aren't getting a refund unless the header was broken when you opened the box, and even then you get a refund LESS shipping charges.

I just think if you're paying that much you should go all out. I've heard of basically no problems with ebay headers and the hp gains are going to be minimal for a DC over a Ebay one.

you're better off sticking with that dc header..All the other ones will be the same quality or subpar until you get above the $500 mark..It's a fact unless you can find a good header used

That's the first and only problem i've heard of. I've seen the headers work on other people's cars locally and even helped install one. The quality on the one I installed was as good as the Airmass on my car.

Wait, this thread is about the "best d-series header" right? What's with all this talk about Megan and DC? Best d-series has to go to bismoto IMHO.

Wouldn't you say DC Sports is worth the money if it doesn't 'bang' on you?

$300 once for DC or $150 twice for Megan???

Even if eBay ones are just as quality for Megan, why buy something over and over? Some people get a great product though. I'll only buy a high name w/ quality when it comes to a part that is such of importance.
