Default Are ALL intakes like this?

Hey guys...im still new to the scene and learning about my R daily...i just picked up a passwordjdm powerchamber intake yesterday...it was a pretty humid day and once i installed the thing my car felt sluggish...especially at high end...but today was cool out and i took it for another boot...and wow what a difference....it seemed like it was a HUGE difference in acceleration...are all intakes that sensitive to temperature? or is this one in particular?

thanks

It was just heat soaked, other intake sometimes have issues with this but not as bad as the PWJDM/J's. I've never had the problem with the CAI.

I had the same problem with the Password:JDM intake on my Civic... I now have a 3" AEM CAI, and I've yet to have this problem.

I felt it too with my J's Cf intake. The difference in how much it made and then lost was too much for me. I switched to a comptech icebox. The icebox may make a little less power under some conditions, but the consistency is much more to my taste

well . your car needs some time to learn it self when u put different stuff in like that..

and i think the j's racing intake has weak vtec sound compared to other intakes i had.

but yeah the temperature does something for sure

My J's suffered from heat soak as well. I built a carbon fiber heat shield for it but eventually changed it out for an Icebox.

your ITR is slow, hell ... you lost a highway roll with a STOCK WRX that makes 160whp, and weighs 500lbs more!
