Default Acura TL Flip Key Mod!

Anyone hate their current key...? This is something I found while browsing my Honda Element forum. I think this would work on our cars but don't quote me on that. It'd be a pimp mod to do though...

I'm going inquire about it at Acura next weekend when I find some time. I'll let you guys know what I find out if nobody else beats me to it.

pretty cool.

~$150 is a little to much for me though...rather spend it towards something else

The TL key would have the trunk button, he said RDX because they were talking about it on the Element forum.

Its still worth a try I guess, I thought about this the first 5 or 10 times I stabbed myself in the back of the leg sitting down with my key in my back pocket.

i agree... i think i would want that flip key at least have all the buttons we already have for our civics. Is it $150 for a pair or just a single flip key?

quoted from link:

"Then bring all of your keys you own (including the flip key) to honda and have them reprogram them all together (100 bux approx)

full project price for me (cause i dont know anyone at THIS honda dealership) was around 150."

looks like if it was $100 to program that it only cost him $50 for the key

alright folks....well i went to acura today and bought the key...24.99 for TL flip key. Took it to my work and had my parts guy cut it for me. I programmed it and it worked! Only thing i cant get to work is the lock/unlock buttons. Only thing i can think of is that they operate on different frequencies. I dont see anyway of making it work but i could be wrong. Anyone with input please give it!

These guys post for pages about this and go into frequency and chip manufacturers and everything else... I haven't had time to sift through it all, but I figured I'd post the link.

Anyone wanna do a group buy on this? I can see how much i can get em for based on how many people will buy, keep in mind you will buy a blank and still need to get it cut... and you cannot get lock/unlock/trunk/panic to work... if you have an alarm keyfob than you will unlock from that anyways. Lemme know!
