TOKICO HP
for an oem replacement strut thats a little firmer then stock, yes they do the job just fine. there are some here that have had the shock blown due to excessive lowering.
if you want something for a decent street ride then these work just fine. i just wouldnt get slip on coil overs with them. a decent spring that drops 1.5-2.0 should have no problem.
again these are for daily driver, not for track use.

my question to you is... what are you looking for in your suspension set up?
answer that one and i'm sure a lot of us here will be able to help you out a bit more.

This is good info. I use the HP struts with the Tokico "Red" Springs. The car is lowered about 1.5" or so and handles well, it's just a little stiffer and bouncier than the stock shocks. I too would not recommend a slip-on coilover or a drop beyond 2 inches if you're going to use them.
