Are lsd difficult to install?
I might be getting a Lsd soon for my gsr and wanted to know how difficult it is to install?

Any sites?
Any pictres?

 

i have the impression that an lsd is quite difficult to install -- im sure you could get a helms and try and figure it out, but i wouldnt honestly.

 

It's only hard because you gotta tear the tranny apart and it's pretty itricate... if you do decide to do it yourself I'd reccomend 1. a helms, and 2. someone who has done it before so you don't do something stupid you'll regret. But hey, some people are super mechanically inclined. If that's you, have at it!

 

DID IT LAST YEAR.

Total PITA.... but I had a clutch go so I figured I could install while I was bringing the tranny off the motor.

Took me forever..... maybe 15 hours total working slowly and by myself. You will be happy with the results though, better DIY than pay a shop to do it though prices of LSD install are ridiculous.

Have patience, a Helms, go to C-speed and HYBRID sites, get a buddy and take two or three days to do it right.
Plus the shims to space the LSD in the tranny (with feeler gauges like a valve adjustment) will need to be ordered from a dealership to the right size so that is another few days of down time.

hm...if your asking that question, i suggest you save yourself the trouble and not do it yourself, no offense, but it is a loooong and arduous process... if you do decide to do it yourself, make sure you have some friends that have done it before to help you out!
