2007 Honda Civic Si sedan

Im trying to replace a faulty lightbulb on the front right headlight. I can see the bulb from under the hood, but there's just no way I can fit my hand in there. How do you remove it properly?

Turn wheels all the way.. reach in through fenderliner.. takes less than 5 minutes

I unbolted that thingy and squeezed my hand through. I didn't remove it but just let it flex enough to reach the bulb. I did it, you can do it also.

 

2 differnt ways

1. Take the head lamp out ( Very Very Very Very Hard )

2. From under the fender, turn the wheel all the way to one side ( better )

 

take out your coolant resevoir...and stick your hand down there.

 

Bump for any new "easier" ways

 

is it a high or low beam?

high beam- just reach in through the top (for drivers side you have to remove the reservoir by pulling up), remove the plug, then twist the bulb (reverse for install)

low beam- is the difficult, turn steering wheel to the right for driver side, left for passenger side, pull back the wheel well shield, reach in and remove the plug, then twist the bulb (reverse for install)

 

Get someone else to do it. :p

 

Not going to lie, the headlight design is pretty stupid. On my old WRX everything was accessible straight from the engine bay with no obstructions. When I changed my lowbeams I removed the washer tank AND the ABS unit and it didn't really help. Needless to say I'll try the wheel well method next time, do you have to remove clips to get behind the fender liner?
