gc/koni help^<><>^
just installed gc coilovers(350/300), koni yellow sp3's, and gc extended top hats yesterday, and go for about an hour drive around the city to figure out that it rides really bad. it will hit one bump and not stop bouncing for another few seconds after (i am all the way down on the coilovers and on the lowest clip on the shock, but i didnt think it would ride this bad)
also, everytime i hit a small bump i hear a thunk thunk thunk coming from my front suspension, almost sounds like its bottoming out, is this the case?
any idea on what that is? or why my car is riding horribly?
my skunk2 pro series rode so much better, and i thought it would be the other way around(gc/koni riding better)
thanks.

Your way too low, your riding around on your bumpstops. With the konis you should keep the clip at the stock ride height setting, and you shouldn't be all the way down on the coils.
yea to the koni specific sleeve, and no to the stock dust covers
im not as slammed as some ppl that use this setup (heymikey, py, etc. etc.), and they seem to say it rides good
ill post a pic really quick to show how low i am

you need to raise up.

im sitting at my comp not thinking im low enough lol
but do you think a more agressive spring rate will fix this problem? like 450/350, or even 500/400?

i highly doubt ill ever raise it up, its just weird that my skunk2's were almost as low, but rode alot better (but they had 8k 6k spring rates)

There's no way you can be all the way down and that is the lowest it will go. When I first installed my Koni Yellow/GC setup on my civic...I was on the center/stock circlip and the pearches still had tons of threads to go down. Something is amiss here. Can you take a picture of the actual shock/coilovers with the wheels off the car?
Maybe it's the difference between the sp3's and the yellows...but who knows.
Mine before I raised it up.

only the front is down all the way, the back is like 3/4 down
yea let me get a pic for you real quick, i also thought it would be lower than this but iono

i really recommend that you raise your ride height, youll get a better ride.
but yes, getting stiffer springs and shorter spring will help your situation.
look in this thread for trading springs.

Maybe you have the wrong shocks for the car?
One time my buddy was sold the wrong year shocks for his accord and when we installed them...the perches were so low...we couldn't even get his frame up off the ground. There was like two inches of clearance.
I ended up checking part numbers on the website...sure enough. He had 94-97 Accord shocks and his car was 98 Accord.

yea im looking on the site right now, but all i can find is the front springs which are 200.64.67
my rears are 180.64.44
the fronts are saying its a spring rate of 380, but i ordered custom 350/300, maybe they sent me the standard integra rates instead of my custom ones?

No, no, no...SHOCKS...the yellow sticks that the red slinky's wrap around.
Go to the KONI site and look up part numbers.

ok ill look up the shocks
but there is a sticker on the box the springs came in that say:
front spring: 200.64.67
rear spring: 180.64.44
the numbers are hand written in there, so that was a mistake?

By looking at the picture...it looks like they sent him the correct spring rates...just backwards. If that is the case...they'll probably send you a new set of fronts with the correct spring rate.
ok. i saw things wrong and got confused. i thought you had the 250's (44) over the fronts.
front spring: 200.64.67
rear spring: 180.64.44
these are the correct spring rates. 375/250 (actually i thought they gave 280's for the rear for integras. 250's for civics...) but not for you. especially since you ordered 350/300. you should get something stiffer than 350/300 tho.
and you should be getting some shorter springs in the front too.

well im pretty sure i can get some new springs from the place i ordered since they got it wrong
what should i get for the back? size and spring rate?
