Default 1996 Acura integer GSR battery keeps dying(going on the 5th new battery)

I have replace my car battery 4 times now. The battery keeps dying. The first time I replace it and it died again, I took it to Midas, they said I got a bad battery. So I replace the battery. Sure enough 1 month later the battery dies again. So I jumped it and took it to the acura deal. They said it was because of my battery and that my trunk lights was staying on and slow drained my battery(800 dollars later). So I replace the battery and made sure that the trunk like is off. Well it has been about a month now. My battery is completely died again. Can anyone out there help me?

um alternator??.. have you checked that out? or you could have some kind of accessory that is stuck on but my guess would be your alternator is going bad not your brand new batteries

I had the kenwood cd changer put in when I bought the car in 1996. Given it wasn't the dealer that put it in. It was best buy that installed it for me.

Midas and the Acura dealer both said my alternator is fine. Nothing is wrong with it. That was my first guess though when my battery died.

Is it wired constant?

Acura charged you $800 to tell you that your trunk light was left on? Time to go to small claims court. I found out that I left my trunk light on one time, it had been on for about two months and never drained my battery at all.

There is a way to hook up a meter to your electrical system to see if there is a parasitic drain. There is also a similar device that will detect a drain and cut the flow of current to save the battery. Better to find the source of the drain and repair it tho.
