I have a lsvtec swap and installed a new gsr waterpump with gsr timing belt and my idle is now high (around 2k) and it overheats. It was overheating a little before because the radiator fan doesnt always kick on like its suppose to but it seems worse now..could it have just been a bad install on the water pump? How do you check to see if it is working properly? And for the idle..do i just need to retime it?
did you replace your thermostat too and did you adjust your throttle cable?that might be why your revving high.get a electric fan.hope i help out a little.

throttle cable needs to be adjusted if i didnt touch it? I'll have to check on that. Also I didnt get a new thermostat yet but im gonna do that also. Anyone else have anything else I should check/do?
Did you evacuate all of the air out of the cooling system after you refilled it? High idle and overheating are both symptoms of low coolant or air in the system.

did a cold start with full system and burped it as normal. The coolant would get extremely hot with the cap off though and it was start overfilling and blew up like a volcano.
