96 civic ex.
over the last week when i drive at any speed below 45mph my front driver side brake makes a squeeling sound but stops immediately after applying any pressure to the brake. im at work right now so i havent taken a look at it yet but is there any ideas as to what it is? i did search and only thing ive heard so far is a bolt could be rubbing? and a buddy says calipers might be locking? anyways im pretty new at brakes besides changing the lines.

 

Maybe try spraying it with some cleaner, and inspecting your pads. I had a problem with brake squeal on my toyota truck and it was solved by simply replacing the brake pads. That's the best info I can deliver from what I have read from your post.

 

alright let me know what other info you need. im at work right now and i can go ahead and place an order thru napa and use our company discount. i just dont know if i should go ahead and replace the whole deal

Have you changed the Rubber Brake Hoses latley on your car? i had the same problem and went the route of changing pads.. didnt work.
then i entirly rebuilt the caliper(new seals, dustboots, and greased up the pin slides) still didnt solve the problem the brakes were still draging slightly and now those new pads i put on were starting to wear unevenly.
Finally i changed out the rubber lines at the front and my brakes no longer drag or squeel at slow speed.
Later split open the lines with a razor blade and found no signs of blockage or colapse, dont know why they failed, but replacing them fixed the problem

remove the pads from the cradles, inspect the pads and make sure they still have life. Clean out the sliders on the cradles, make sure everything moves freely and apply brake lube to the pad where it moves on the sliders and where the caliper touches the pad.
