accord 18 inc rims
I have a accord 98 and i just put some 18 inc rims on it.. i have heard that by putting that big of a rim it can mess up my computer. I wanted to know if i can change the computer setting to match the 18 inc rim as the stock rims are 15 inc and if it is easy
Thanks
Thanks
no, putting 18" rims on isn't what throws off the speedometer. Putting a tire on that rim that is bigger in diameter than the stock tire is whats going to throw things off. So... 1) year/model? 2) whats you stock tire size? 3) what size tire is on the 18" rims?
its 98 honda accord ex, 4 cyl... the stock tire is 195-65-15 and now i have a 225-40-18.....
also it feels a little wired driving, meaning u gara hold the stearing wheel more tightly when i drive through pot hole bc the car goes to one side(if im explaining it right), is that normal??
also i thought that putting a bigger wheel might give me more traction espically on wet condition but that is not the case even though i have 2 toyo proxes on front and 2 falken on rear....what u say....
Thanks for your response

those tires are close enough to the stock overall diameter that your speedometer wont be off anything noticeable, so I wouldn't worry about that.
The larger rims are going to add a whole different feel to the car.
If the car pulls to one side, it may be a good idea to go get an alignment done.

a wider contact patch from the wider tires wont help to improve your wet traction, any improvement you have int he wet will be from the tire compound and tread pattern. to improve wet traction you want a narrow but long contact patch, so you would want to either go down in tire width, or up in overall diameter.
