The D16A1 crank came in 2 sizes. One has a 22mm snout (86-87) and one has a 24mm snout (88-89). I may have those backwards.

I am not sure which one is in the ZC. If you have access to one, measure it and then you'll know what to hunt for at the junkyard.

The cams are a different profile, the cam gears on the zc are smaller, the intake manifold flows better on the zc and i belive the valving is different

Cool thank's Sonny.

What part of the crank is The "snout"?

I'll check with some places and see what size the JDM ZC block is. (Anyone?)

Thank's

The snout is the part of the crank that the crank pulley slips over.

So a 88-89 D16A1 Crank will fit in a JDM ZC correctly?

Wouldn't it also depend on the year of the JDM ZC block?

Well I have come to the conclusion that I'm just going to buy an entire ZC engine. Here's why...

A good block that's never been tampered with(as far as I know)
Low milage internals
All the sensors needed
I get most of my money back parting out the stuff I don't need.

All in all I'm only letting go about a few hundred dollars for the good block I'll have left over.

Everything measures out okay then too, right?

I have a ZC motor, and the crank has some nasty marks on it. But I also have a crank from a 89 teg that is perfect. So I should be good to go on using it right?

the cranks are completely the same for every corresponding year. difference is in cams, head pistons and rods
