Are all Type R tranny's LSD equipped?
I found a B18c5 sitting in the corner of our shop shortblock with Tranny. I was curious if these trannys had a factory LSD. Someone said an easy way to find out is just look through the axle hole and if you see a Pin it isnt LSD. This tranny DOES have a pin.. So anyone know?
Its supposivly a JDM tranny.
Thanks
Jeff

LSD check=You should be able to see through the drive/half shaft holes clearly, no obstruction. At least that's the case for oem Honda LSD...not sure about aftermarket though.
Did you check the stamping on the tranny case first?

Well first of all the shortblock isn't JDM if it says B18C5.
Also if it's a JDM tranny it won't have a designation plate, just bare, unthreaded holes. If there are threaded holes and no plate, then someone has removed the plate.

Well I was told the engine was bought at a JDM engine supplier, maybe not.. all I know is that the engine code is a b18c5 with an unmarked tranny sitting in the corner of our shop and I was a bit curious about it.
either way I am going to buy it, boss said 350 bucks takes it.. No head but I have a few b16a heads that should work.
I just wanted to know more info about the tranny.
thanks
Jeff
