i have a couple of questions...i put a h22 into my civic ex 95'. then check engine light is one for one, two sometimes not all the time, at an aidle the car will rev up to 2 thousand and then back down to 1 thousand and just keep doing that till i take off but it some times does that agian when i stop at the next stop light, buti have noticed that when i put 87 ocatne in it that it does it alot more then when i put 93 in it... some one told me that it could be the timming, he said that with the dual over head cams that it is commen for it to have jumped a tooth on the belt. the next one when i take off hard in 2nd or 3rd sometimes it feels like turbo lag but i dont have a turbo...if you can help me with any of these will be my hero lol.. well just post if u guys know anything would help out alot thanks!

yes the check engine light stays on!

 

are you running both oxygen sensors?
where are they mounted

 

im not sure if i have two on there but i know one is on the down pipe of the header but would that cuz it to rev up and down or is that just for the check engine light...

 

my friend who has a 91 accord with an h22 his did the same thing.
he added a secondary o2 and it now idles smooothly and cel is gone
Ive also heard where you mount them is a factor but dont quote me on that one.
It was funny cause people allways thought he was trying to race lol

 

y does he need 2? its obd1. find what the code is.

 

Check the code. The bogging sounds like the timing belt is off a tooth. Check all of that and report back.

so OP is it obd1 or 2 and what code is it throwin
I figured since the car was a 98 the motor was atleast as new as the car.
sounded like the same symptoms as the accord i spoke of which was obd2 and the code was for the o2.

 

no the car is a 95 i will check the timing on it and try and get a code for it then get back to you guys thanks guys needed the help. would the car run alot better if the is running right cuz i lost to a stock cobolt ss i thought i could have smoked him..

Step 1: Find out what codes the ecu is throwing.

 

even the cobolt ss!! i herd they were great cars but i still thought i could have smoked him! lol im not drunk!.... ill try to check the codes this weekend if i have time...thanks for everyones help..ill get back to u on the codes!
