Default smallest bump and the wipers go wacko

I drive a 1995 EJ Dx.... Did a search on "wipers" got 2 results but not what im looking for. Basically when driving if i go over the smallest bump the wipers start going full speed. The same if i hit the steering wheel. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue. Thanxs to all who reply

I had a similar problem in my old hatch, the spring in the column assemply holding up the lever was old/weak/dead.

Does it move up and down easily?

common problem on all honda's. You can replace the switch assembly (i think its called a clock spring) or you can do what i do and put a spring or something collapsible in there to hold it up until you use it

if the switch itself doesn't move up and down too easily you may want to check to see if your wiring doesn't have issues.
Another common problem is the wiper motor park switch gets flakey due to buildup on the contact area. This causes just the right vibration or shock to make the wipers think you hit the mist option and will run on high till it gets to the park position agian.

one last thing... here is how to pull the switch

and how to clean the switch contacts.
